Softball Team Plans for Another Successful Season

This year’s Wirt County softball team is excited to kick off the season. With 34 games scheduled this year, so far winning 2 of them, they have a busy season ahead of them. 14 dedicated players are working hard to ensure that they have the best season yet.

“This team has a chance to be very good.  They have the potential to have a very good season.  They just have to play up to their potential every time they’re on the field,” says head coach, Aaron Hill.

The two seniors on the team are Miranda Dennis and Jessica Lockhart. Both players have been on the team all four years of their high school career. Miranda is the start center fielder. Jessica is the starting pitcher.

“I’m very excited for my final season of softball. Personally, I think our team works great together and we have good potential to have an outstanding season,” says Miranda Dennis.

Jessica Lockhart says, “I am thrilled for this softball season to get into full swing. The team works very well together, and the underclassmen have shown so much potential. We have the potential to do so much this year, and I can’t wait to see what my senior season holds with this team.”

This week, they play Doddridge Monday, Ravenswood Wednesday, St. Mary’s Thursday, and South Harrison and Ravenswood Saturday.

With support, hard work, and dedication this year’s WCHS softball team could have a successful season.
